Are you a “Winnie the Pooh” fan? I want people to see me as “Tigger” but deep down I am the not so happy “Eeyore” when it comes to being a parent these days. Actually in my mind Eeyore is happier then I am these days.
For those of you who are struggling to find full time work or building your business either as a mom or a dad, you might feel that there is constant cloud over you just like Eeyore. The issue I have is that waiting or hoping that my life will change. Sitting around waiting is not the correct answer. Doing and creating is the answer.
You might be working on a new proposal to get a new client or sending out another resume. My thought for you is that you keep moving forward. Yes, there are times when that little negative devil sits on your should to tell you to give up or say to you “What is the use? Nobody is going to read your resume.” Have you had those moments? Me too.
Lately I have this over whelming feeling I suck as a parent and husband because I am sitting on “hope” island instead of creating opportunities. My wife and I do not use the “L” word as much. I can see in our kid’s eyes of a dad who is a failure. Yes, it is my opinion but I know it is not just me going through this. Come on you have not cried your eyes out in front of the family dog? OK maybe, just maybe this has only happened to me, once or seven times.
My point here is, when you wake up tomorrow what character will you decide to be? Will you be a Tigger or Eeyore?
