Tommy’s Speaking Information

Blending The Family is the business that Tommy has created to get his positive message to the masses on promoting the need to have dads of divorce stay involved with their kids as best as they can. Having both dads and the kids access to a webcam is just one tip from the book.  Another tip that Tommy stresses to dads is the point of not being hung up on needing to get back into the dating scene right away. Dads need to work on themselves first, and again build the bond with the kids is vastly more important.

Tommy Maloney’s first book, “25 Tips for Divorced Dads: How to create memories and grow your bonds with your children,” is all about helping dads still be there for their kids even if they do not live in the same state.  The book comes from personal experiences as Tommy was not only going through a divorce in 2008 but travels all over the United States for work, and those two life-changing events made life a bit uneasy.  The book also doubles as a workbook so dads can also create their own stories for their special bond with their kids.

Before becoming a professional speaker, Tommy has been a corporate trainer since 1997, training: new hires, technical support, soft skills, sales, and customer service. He has trained in one year over 1,000 new hires to achieve a graduation rate of 95 percent. Saving the company money for every student who stays in the training class because of the cost to hire new agents will keep adding up. He attributes his success by creating and building one-on-one relationships in the classroom, a skill he crafted by being a ten-year radio on-air talent, producer, and stunt boy.

Tommy has spoken to several organizations to help promote positive father/child relationships. In 2010 Tommy was a keynote speaker at the Colorado Fatherhood convention, where he talked about going through his divorce and had his son Connor do his introduction via video. Tommy has also had the privilege of been asked to speak at Connor’s school for the “leadership” class. Tommy is a speaker who truly speaks from both experience and his heart, and his passion shows when he is on the platform. In June of 2015, Tommy took the stage at TEDx Frontrange. The topic, in turn, would become his third book, “My Dads Advice at 5:04 AM.”

When Tommy is home, he spends time with his son Connor. They both play ice hockey as goalies.  Tommy is not the only writer in the family; Connor has co-written a book with his bonus sister Becca. The material that the kids wrote was turned into a coloring book. The coloring book has tips, but they are tips from kids to kids about getting through a divorce at a young age.

“Tommy’s presentation was exciting to hear at our Optimist club on August 24, 2010. Your presentation was not only interesting and informative, but your additional enthusiasm and wonderful humor really allowed the subject to come alive with your audience.  His story not only brought the addressees in as he was telling it, the tips that Tommy presents were very thought-provoking and useful to the group.  We look forward to having Tommy come back to speak to our group in the future and would highly recommend for any group or organization to hire Tommy to speak without question.

Sincerely Yours,

Neal Blythe

“Tommy’s presentation was exciting to hear at our Club meeting. Your presentation was not only interesting and informative, but your additional enthusiasm and wonderful sense of humor made the program come alive.  Our members appreciated your insight on how divorce impacts the children and the burden that they carry through life. Tommy’s comments were thought-provoking and created questions on how to stop divorce.

We look forward to having Tommy come back to speak to our group in the future and highly recommend that your group or organization hire Tommy to speak.  He speaks from the heart and with passion and truly believes that his message will touch the lives of others.

Sincerely yours,

Mrs. Charlie Neumann

Tommy had a firm grasp of the material and was a very engaging trainer.  We all have been through training classes that were both tedious. Tommy has a remarkable ability to engage the audience and keep them motivated to learn.  His classes were fun and entertaining while still focused on the task – learning the material.  He has a remarkable ability to keep his audience engaged in learning the material.

I would highly recommend him for any training position.

Sincerely,

Leslee Beard
